Colorful Quality Etched Horse Hair Wedding Vase
The wedding vase is a symbol of unity between a bride and groom. It is an ancient vessel still used in traditional Native American wedding ceremonies. One spout represents the husband and the other spout represents the wife. The looped handle represents unity achieved with marriage and the space created within the loop, represents the couple's circle of life. The first step to creating this piece is to cover the bowl in horse hair. As it is being fired, the hair melts into the pot to create each unique pattern. Then the piece is painted in radiant contemporary colors and hand etched with traditional designs. A beautiful accent to your home or a thoughtful and gift. Each piece is signed by the artist, Sylvia Johnson of the Navajo tribe, and is approximately 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. This purchase allows Native Americans to continue to be employed in their traditional craft. Due to the nature of handmade items, some variations in colors and designs may occur. A card with the meaning of the wedding vase is included.
