Colorful Quality Hand Etched Horse Hair Decorative Navajo Wedding Vase
The wedding vase is used in traditional wedding ceremonies as a symbol of unification between the bride and groom. One spout represents the husband while the other spout represents the wife. The looped handle represents unity achieved with marriage and the space created within the loop, represents the couple's circle of life. The first step to creating this piece is to cover the it in horse hair. As it is being fired, the hair melts into the vase to create each unique pattern. Then, the piece is painted and etched by hand. A beautiful accent to your home or a thoughtful gift. This purchase allows Native Americans to continue to be employed in their craft. Due to the nature of handmade items please allow for some variations. Colors and designs may vary slightly from the picture. Signed piece by Sylvia Johnson of the Navajo Tribe. Approximately 9 inches tall and 5 inches wide.
