HUGE Authentic Navajo Hachita Squash Blossom with Matching Earrings
Here we have a truly wonderful one of a kind and giant sterling silver and Hachita turquoise beaded Squash Blossom jewelry set with matching Hachita earrings. This set was made by esteemed silversmith Fannie Chavez-Platero of the Navajo tribe (pictured in the last photo with our owner/operator, Shawnee). This set is stamped by Fannie for quality on the back of the naja twice and shows amazing attention to detail and craftsmanship. Amazing work from Fannie, as always. She never disappoints us and is one of our favorite people and artists to deal with. This is one of the largest and most beautiful pieces we have ever seen from Fannie. We asked her to do a large squash blossom set for us and she picked out her stones and brought it back the next month. She is an amazing artist and makes traditional museum quality Navajo jewelry that we are honored to have available for sale. The total length of the squash necklace is 22 inches from clasp to the bottom of the Naja, all from sterling silver and genuine top grade Hachita turquoise. The Naja or center pendant is 5 inches wide by 5 inches long with a seperate hanging blossom in the center giving this piece a truly unique look and feel. Each blossom is beautifully detailed, approximately 2 1/2 to 3 inches long with very large high quality Hachita turquoise cabs. The matching dangle earrings fit the squash beautifully, as seen in the pictures, and measure approximately 3 inches long. Every one of these Hachita blossoms are unique which gives this squash an amazing and personal look. Some of the stones are solid in color, others are broken up with slight highly sought after webbing. Some have a deep green color and others have a rich bluer hue. The squash blossom itself measures approximately 1 pound and 1 ounce not including the earrings. This number may not seem like much, but it is a very heavy and solid piece. All of this weight is from pure silver and genuine turquoise and we imagine you will be quite surprised when you feel this squash in person. This set is brand new, as you can tell by how shiny and clean it is. This is truly an heirloom necklace that will retain its value and will be a wonderful investment to pass down, gift, or one of a kind addition to any jewelry collection. We are not sure when or if we will ever see another squash this big or this nice again, which explains the price. Turquoise is said to be the first gemstone known to man. It has been admired and revered for its beauty and healing properties since about 900 A.D. Turquoise has long been used as personal adornment by Southwestern Native American for more than 100 years. Hachita is a town in the Galilee district of Southern New Mexico, USA where the turquoise is mined. The mine is now extinct and is no longer in operation. A gift box will be included. This purchase allows Native Americans to continue to be employed in their traditional craft. We ship fast, professional, and free. Insurance will be included shipping this set.
