Hachita Turquoise and Sterling Silver Leather Cord Necklace
Here we have a gorgeous Hachita turquoise and sterling silver pendant attached to an adjustable leather cord necklace. This piece was made by Fannie Chavez-Platero of the Navajo tribe in New Mexico. This turquoise cab has rich hues of both green and blue that transitions from top to bottom as well as being slightly webbed and broken up. There are no cracks or chips to this stone whatsoever. Fannie brought them into us herself just the other day. Hachita is a turquoise mine in Southern New Mexico that is no longer operated. The leather cord is genuine leather and double braided with both a black and brown cord. It is adjustable by clipping the closure to whichever length you would like. As it is, the necklace measures approximately 11 inches long or 22 inches if it were to be layed out flat. The Hachita pendant measures 1/2 inch long and 3/4 inch wide. The pendant is stamped by Fannie with her initials as well as with a sterling mark. Please reach out to us with any questions. This purchase allows Native Americans to continue to be employed in their traditional crafts.
